AGM Weekend 2008
Another Year Passed and We Still Can’t Remember the Songs
May 9-10
The weather’s warmer, we’re getting sick of being begged to set trails by Lauren and having to listen to FMIG’s rants…so it must be time for the Annual General Meeting! The AGM is when we toss out the old committee – I mean, thank the old committee for all their hard work keeping the hash going during the year – and erect the new one. We mark this weekend event with the traditional pub crawl, a trail set by the outgoing JM's (who could frankly care less), and as much crappy beer and fried food as we can afford.
First up we have a Friday night West Village pub crawl set by our Religious Advisor FMIG, Fluffer Doggystyle, and hapless victim House of Weinies. The pub crawl starts at 199 Bar on 15th street between Irving Place and EastUnion Square. Standard pub crawl rules apply: 1- you’re on your own for booze, 2- the route will be marked in chalk, and 3- (at least while the hares dexterity holds out) the hotline (212-hash-nyc) will be updated for each bar.
Saturday is the main event. Current Joint Masters Eager 4 Beaver and Jumpin’ Jack Gash will set a fabulous trail to mark the end of their terms with help from the rest of the outgoing committee. Start is at Blackstone’s Bar on 55th street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues. Pre-lubing begins at 2, trail starts at 3:15. Hash cash will be $20. This will all be worth it when we’re swimming in beer and yummy bar food as we use the applause-o-meter to vote for Couple of the Year, AOTY and other surprise awards. Let's see what the local press write about *this* event!
On-on!
