Brooklyn Half-Marathon Brunch and Pub Crawl

The Brooklyn Half-Marathon is upon us again and (more importantly) so is the traditional post-race brunch and pub crawl hosted by the Brooklyn Hash House Harriers. This year the festivities take place on Saturday, May 3rd.

Those running the race may be greeted at the finish line by members of the crack BH3 committee and shepherded through the Park to brunch at Smashmouth and Alison Byron-Brown's apartment. Shower facilities will be available there also, and the event will be catered by a special guest celebrity chef.  If, for some reason, you cannot find the crack committee, there will be a trail laid from the finish line to the brunch.

If you are running the Half and wish to attend, please let us know by sending an e-mail to dbbadh@yahoo.com , as it's helpful to have a fairly accurate head count. Sorry, space limitations mean that the brunch part is restricted to those participating in the Half. The address of the brunch will be sent out once the list of attendees is firmed up. Hash Cash for the brunch will be $3.- $5.

Following the brunch, Smashmouth will once again lead the troops on the legendary BH3 Pub Crawl, this year featuring some new venues and some old favorites in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn . Bar # 1, at 1:00 p.m., will be confirmed later, but it will be not more than a few blocks from the brunch. A trail will be marked and the Hotline will be set for each bar as we go. The Pub Crawl part, of course, is open to all.

Follow-on info from DB2:

 To all:

The Pub Crawl will start at 1:00 p.m. at Union Hall on the south side of Union St. in Park Slope, just east of 5th Ave.

Their website is http://www.unionhallny.com

The nearest subway stop is the Union St. stop on the R local, which is one long block away at 4th Ave. You can also walk a half mile from the Atlantic Ave / Pacific St complex.

A trail will be marked from bar to bar (a new bar approx. every 45 minutes) and the hotline will be updated as we go.

Anybody running the Half and wishing to attend the brunch who has not yet RSVP'ed to dbbadh@yahoo.com should do so by end of Thursday. A further e-mail will go out Friday morning with my address, in case you are separated from the Brooklyn committee between the end of the race and the brunch location.

Remember that space limitations mean that the brunch must be restricted to race participants only. Thanks for your understanding.

All Hashers and their guests are welcome on the Pub Crawl.
