It has been almost a month-and-a-half since Dr. G. and
Ahhh Tongue were charged with the class D Felony of
breach of peace for laying trail near an Ikea. While
the incident has faded a bit from the spotlight, the
very real legal battle is still ongoing. The good news
is the city of New Haven has decided not to seek
restitution. (finally, a clear head prevails) The bad
news is the state is still pursuing the felony
charges.
This is where you come in.
There have been a lot of people asking how they can
donate to the legal fund of the New Haven Two. To
facilitate any donations to the legal defense fund a
Pay Pal account has been set up under the name of
helpthenewhavenhashers@yahoo.com
To donate all you need to do is go to www.paypal.com
and click on the "Send Money" tab on top of the
screen. Then enter the e-mail address of
helpthenewhavenhashers@yahoo.com. For convenience the
account was set up to take credit cards as well. If
you don't have a Pay Pal account it takes about two
minutes to set one up. (and you have obviously never
purchased anything from eBay) If you do have a Pay
Pal account just enter your e-mail address and
password and you are done.
Dr. G has promised that in the event that they receive
more money than is necessary for their defense any
overage will go the Hill Health Center in New Haven.
(http://www.hillhealthcenter.com/) This is a
non-profit hospital that caters mostly to the
uninsured that Dr. G donates his time to. So bonus in
giving because no matter what, it will be for a good
cause.
So give till it hurts, or don't give at all, it's your
choice. The one thing you CAN do is PLEASE forward
this e-mail to as many Hashers as possible, even if
you don't want to donate. The last time I saw the
petition it was up to 2200 people. If each one of
these people gave just a dollar it would help
tremendously. (I'll let you do the math on that one)
Before I start to sound like Sally Struthers I
hope some of you find it in your heart to help out a
fellow Hash family member by donating whatever you can
to help offset some of the legal fees against the New
Haven Hashers Two.
