GGFM #214 RGM

The Truth     Official Organ of the Greater Gotham Full Moon Hash House Harriers G2FMH3 Hash #214  –  Friday, October 17th, 2008                                                             The RGM   Hares: Lauren and Empress Norma Start: Biddy Early’s: Church and Murray sts On-In: Biddy Early’s: Church and Murray sts Scribe: Lauren     Ahhh the GGFM RGM .  What does it even stand for?  Is it Regional General Meeting?  Is it Random General Meeting?  Is it Runners Going Mad?  Is it the Really Gross Men hash?  Hmm or Really Good-looking Men?   That would be better.  In reality I believe Random General Meeting is the accepted official wording.  In either case it is the fun-filled day where we celebrate the greatness of the GGFM throughout the year and make changes to the committee.  Some people may stay on, some may leave, and some may simply switch roles.  I personally have opted to ditch my role as on-sec for the GGFM.  Why you ask?  Firstly, I have enough crap to do for the NYCH3.  And secondly, there are always some annoying people (cough* Girl Scout Nookie) who promise repeatedly to do a write-up for you and never follow through.  (yes this is the second time I’m calling her out on this)               So let’s get down to it.  The trail was AWESOME.  I mean as awesome and fantastic a trail as you ever could imagine.  There were not one, but TWO delicious (up for debate) drink checks.  There was a chicken/eagle split.  There was China town.  There were traffic lights.  There was a skate park.  There were rats,...

The Truth     Official Organ of the Greater Gotham Full Moon Hash House Harriers   G2FMH3 Hash #209  – Friday, May 16th, 2008   Hares: Red-Headed Steve and Fireman Tim Start: Reif’s, 92nd and 2nd On-In: Reif’s, 92nd and 2nd Scribe: Lauren     Today is the GGFM RGM (that’s Regional General Meeting or something like that, I’m not entirely sure about the R).  In either case; it is now the day where we make changes to the committee. Hence why I am writing about a r*n that happened on May 16th when it is now October!  Fortunately for all of you avid write-up readers I have a sharp memory…               It was a fantastically rainy day.  So much so that in a panic Red-headed Steve (RHS) sent out various emails changing the start from P.D. O’Hurley’s  (72nd and Amsterdam) to Reif’s for an A to A trail.  RHS sent the pack of about 8 or 10 hashers out into the rain to try and catch up with Fireman Tim (FT).  Apparently FT set a trail that was just as fantastic as the rain because everyone made it back to the on-in, soaking wet, but in good spirits.  On second thought…maybe...

The Truth     Official Organ of the Greater Gotham Full  Moon Hash House Harriers G2FMH3 Hash #212 – Friday, August 15, 2008    Hares:  Wee Willie and Anna    Start:  103rd and Central Park West On-In:  Ding Dong Lounge, Columbus and 105th Punk Ass Bitch (Scribe):  Noah’s Dinghy  Ever look up in the sky?  I don’t recommend it when driving or walking through midtown; the damn tourists make negotiating the sidewalks hard enough.  But if you have a free moment, by all means, take a gander upwards.  You’ll notice that, merely by looking, you can tell it’s daytime or not, and whether or not some strange water-like substance that people on TV like to call “rain” is liable to fall on us.  Apparently, Wee Willie had not taken the radical step of glancing upward, for on a strangely chilly August evening, when dark clouds had been in the sky all f*cking day, and rain had started to come down around 4:00 p.m., he was obligated to set trail twice.  The second time was more or less live, as Willie raced to place flour, and inexplicably, chalk ahead of the impatient throng gathering at the start.  Actually, “throng” is probably not the word I’m looking for, but rather “eight people who couldn’t figure out why they were doing this.”  Once the not-actually-named Red-Headed Steve gave a perfunctory chalk-talk, the keen powers of detection that packs of hash house harriers are known for led us into Central Park, which was directly across the street.  From there, we made it a whole 50 feet before getting hopelessly lost at the first check.  It was...

The Truth     Official Organ of the Greater Gotham Full  Moon Hash House Harriers G2FMH3 Hash #202  – Friday, December 28, 2007  Hare: Wee Willie          Start: Columbus Circle On-In:  Firehouse Bar   Punk Ass Bitch (Scribe): US Marine Whore    It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.  Back when Wee Willie set his birthday trail way back in December ’07, times were much better. The world wasn’t on the brink of economic collapse. A “folksy” former beauty queen from Alaska wasn’t running for the vice presidency. People named Frannie and Freddie didn’t have to hang their head in shame. The word maverick was just the name of the lead character in Top Gun.   Ah, the good ole days.  But these are serious times, my fellow hashers, calling for a serious write up. A write-up with a plan. One that’s the all about the truth, right down to the very last detail.  But since I’m writing this 11 months after the fact, screw that! I’ll be playing losey goosey with this write up, much like all those mortgage banks played with everyone’s finances.   Quite frankly, I really can’t remember much about the trail and who was there.  I know the trails start at Columbus Circle on a rather mild December Friday night at approximately 7:30 somewhere in the UWS. Wee Willie sent the trail out into the dark reaches of the UWS. The trails went through Central Park… somewhere dark and kinda creepy to be sure.  I betcha there was a bunch of checks that were a tough to solve, some marks that...

GGFM #213

The Truth     Official Organ of the Greater Gotham Full  Moon Hash House Harriers G2FMH3 Hash #213  – Friday, September 12, 2008   Hare: Ed Lunch Start: Chambers St. subway On-In: The Patriot, Church and Chambers Scribe: Just Dan W.   It was a dreary Friday night in the month of September when runners converged on the corner of Broadway and Chambers for the promise of a wet and exciting GGFM.  After waiting for about 25 minutes the hashers with leadership of Norma went in search of our poor lost hare Ed Lunch.  Lunch was suspected to be in the patriot staying dry with cheap beers and a bartender that would light her nipples on fire if you told her it was your birthday.  As we all decided to start our own trail to the patriot to just drink the rainy day away we found the lunch sitting on the opposite corner under an overhang, professing confusion, poor old guy.  Ed Lunch then passed out maps that we would then use to help us find our way from phone booth to phone booth around the down town area.  What a fantastic idea, phone booths!    The run was pretty fair for the most part with Don Wannabe doing head counts at every phone booth and only loosing one runner outside of Little Italy.  In a heroic move pussy in boots did save our lives from the gun wielding gate officer at 1 police plaza as we tried to cut through the parking lot.  With surprising agility and speed he pulled the guards attention away from us as...
