Leap Day Hash – February 29 2016

Brooklyn #818 Leap Day Hash February 29 2016   Hares:  What a Cunt and Stuff My Fluff (Virgin Lay)   It was the hash of a lifetime. With the realization that this was the first Leap Hash in the history of the Brooklyn H3, and that there would not be another one until 2044, we knew this could not be missed.   The pack assembled in front of O’Keefe’s on Court Street.  Chalk-talk included standard marks, checks, boob-checks, and the all-impressive 2/29 Check in honor of Leap Day which meant 4-and-you’re-on.  The hares also warned of a Circle Jerk.  What a Cunt exclaimed, “Everyone knows what to do during a Circle Jerk?  No, really.  Everyone knows what to do?…   Take care of the person behind you!”   We took off sensitive to our Leap Day rules.   We hit the first check a mere 50 meters from the start.  By the second check on Jay Street in front of the Brooklyn Court House, we were off-trail for the first time in the night.  Around-and-around we went, tripled over where we had already run.  Through the courtyard between Shake Shack and Hill Country Chicken some fine street dwellers got into the game and tried to tell us where to go.  A few hashers grew frustrated enough to call the hotline.  Blackout disappeared.  Maybe the Hares had confused Leap Day with April Fool’s.  Finally, trail was found.   Then, the rumors spread that we were going to Manhattan.  How could that be?  This is the BROOKLYN H-Three.  The Manhattan Bridge loomed in front of us.  As though rubbing lemon juice into a...

Brooklyn 812 – Polar Bear Hash

January 17, 2016 Start, On-In:  Peggy O’Neils, Surf Ave, Coney Island So, I win the lazy asshole award for this hash since I was the only person who stayed in the bar the whole time, didn’t run trail, didn’t go for a swim, didn’t even go outside to encourage those who were swimming. If any one wants to contribute stories from trail, please email me directly: mel.etchison@gmail.com The bar was lovely, plenty of space heaters to keep my hands warm. Beer selection was… meh… we had Sam Adams, Coors Light. I noticed the pack really smelled when returning from trail.  Normally, I am part of the pack, therefore part of the smell.  But for this trail, I was able to observe. Notes from Eager For Beaver: Hey everyone – Polar bear was great – we had an alarming number of hashers, trail was actually excellent (I’m still amazed when I get to run in areas of the city I didn’t know existed that aren’t active train tracks), tarps all worked out, hot chocolate at the beach was excellent, no one’s bags disappeared, snow fell, etc. Barbara at Peggy’s must have thrown us a bunch of buybacks, since hash cash lasted well into the evening. I believe at some point we kicked in some kitty money.  She says we’re welcome back anytime, which we should take her up on for some upcoming next difficult-to-get-to start. YAY!!!! We didn’t piss off a bar and they want us to come back. Down-Downs: hare cheeky bastard virgins – annie (guest of turd dimension) sheng (guest of i can explain) visitors – melissa –...
